Hello hello to our Firefox 5 Release Candidate

15 June, 2011 § 2 Comments

Today we got our release candidate for Firefox 5. We need as many people as possible to test this beta release. If all goes as planned, we will ship Firefox 5 on June 21st.

Firefox 5 brings CSS Animations, tabs that don’t auto-resize when being closed, significant performance upgrades across the browser, improved support for HTML5 Canvas, and more.

Since we plan on releasing Firefox 5 in less than 6 days, your beta testing is of the utmost importance.

Download the beta today and let us know what you think🙂

Yeah Jared! I didn’t try out Firefox 5 before it shipped; however I am posting this from Firefox 5! It works great! I don’t know what the uptime is for this app but it has been days (maybe weeks) staying open. When I get a chance I’ll upgrade it on my Linux machine at home!

It is very nice not having to worry about upgrading to the most current version. I think you will be very happy with the progress of Firefox, especially over the next couple of releases. We have greatly reduced our memory usage while at the same time speeding up the browser even more🙂
